Dr. Kapoor visited Dr. Jay Barnett, one of the pioneers in the world in
silicone injections for cosmetic applications, in November 2009. They
also interacted and exchanged views on recent advances in Cosmetic
Dermatology in India and the USA. It was a good experience to know the
nature of cosmetic concerns in the Indian population in the United
States, the differences in method of management of skin problems in
Indian and White skin types due to scientific reasons, and how it
differs from practices back in India.

field of Dermatologic lasers and surgery, in November 2009.Dr. Kapoor
was invited to visit the laser research and training facility headed by
Dr. Goldberg, and the two discussed future collaborations in laser
research, telemedicine prospects and strategies to develop better
interaction between leaders in Cosmetic Dermatology in the US and
dedicated clinics like ‘The Esthetic Clinic’ in India, for ensuring
that the best Aesthetic care available in the world is made available
in India.

Dr. Kapoor visited Dr. Greg Morganroth, Director of the California Skin
Institute- One of the most successful of Cosmetic Dermatology practices
in the United States, in 2009.It was a great experience interacting
with Dr. Morganroth and learning some unique Dermato surgical skills
from the amazing doctor. An important intention of the visit was also
to witness the set up and facilities provided in one of the best
clinics in the USA, catering to patient necessities and requirements
and ensuring their satisfaction and comfort with their treating staff.

Dr. Kapoor was a visiting fellow at the Department of Skin and Lasers
in Stanford, California in 2009.Dr. Gladstone, who heads the
department, was her mentor and guide. This visit was focused on fine
tuning Dr. Kapoor’s Dermatosurgery skills by being trained by one of
the best dermsurgeons in the world. It also strengthened associations
of ‘The Esthetic Clinic’ with the Stanford dermatological research team
and developed our professional relationships with one of the best
universities in the world.

Dr. Kapoor spent time with Dr. Kauvar at her state- of- the- art skin
center in the USA, in 2009.Witnessing the most advanced of techniques
and equipment, and the most advanced of treatments and cosmeceuticals
used in skin care, were the features of the visit. The clinic
management, hospitality by the clinic staff, patient comfort, along
with the right expert care was of the highest caliber at Dr. Kauvar’s
clinic, and a sincere effort has been made to incorporate these
principles into ‘The Esthetic clinic’ as well.

Dissection
on cadavers (donated dead bodies) is an important part of a surgeon's
development. Dr. Shome, the only surgeon from outside Europe who
attended this revolutionary course, practiced revolutionary endoscopic
(keyhole) orbital and facial aesthetic surgery so that his patients can
benefit from these latest techniques for scar-less and incision less
surgeries.

Rinky Kapoor with Dr. Woraphong Manuskiatti – Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Kapoor visited Dr. Manuskiatti in August 2009, in Bangkok,
Thailand. He is the Head of the Siriraj Skin laser center at Siriraj
Government Hospital, Mahidol University, and Head of Dermatologic laser
surgery at the internationally acclaimed Bumrungrad International
Hospital, Thailand. Dr. Kapoor observed and assisted Dr. Manuskiatti in
the clinic, as well as framed projects for studies on Asian skin types
and newer treatment modalities for Asian skins. Bangkok being one of
the recent hubs for cosmetic dermatology procedures, it was a great
learning experience for Dr. Kapoor too.

Dr. Rinky Kapoor was awarded the ‘International fellow of the
year ‘award by the International Society of Dermatology in 2008.She was
the first ever fellow to get this opportunity at the National Skin
Center, Asia’s biggest and most equipped skin care center, under the
mentorship of Professor CL Goh, Director Emeritus of the Center. It was
here that she further trained in Cosmetic Dermatology, Dermatosurgery
and laser surgery. Dr. Kapoor considers herself very fortunate to have
been able to acquire her advanced Cosmetic dermatology training at
arguably one of the best centers in the world. This entire experience
helped her build contacts worldover with the best in the field and
equipped her with a sound knowledge and knowhow of laser surgery, which
reflects in the infrastructure at ‘The Esthetic Clinic’.
