Bowen’s Disease

It is an early stage of skin cancer.

It appears as scaly and erythematous patch, often about 1 cm or more in diameter.

Bowen’s Disease can be confused with the other common skin disorders, such as psoriasis, Paget’s disease of the breast and malignant melanoma. A medical history, physical examination, and biopsy establish the diagnosis.

Sun exposure in some cases (ultraviolet radiation). Lesions in non-sun-exposed areas are often of uncertain etiology, but some are due to papilloma virus infection or arsenic ingestion.

The treatment cost is dependent upon the type of treatment chosen. Each treatment modality has its own merits & demerits.
