Are sweets and ice bad for teeth?

Are sweets and ice bad for teeth?

Ans. Over consumption of sweet food and beverages are the one of the main cause of tooth decay. The bacteria in the mouth have the tendency to break the sugar into acid. This will damage the tooth surface and lead to tooth decay. If you have a sweet tooth then make sure your floss and brush your teeth after every sweet you eat.

Ice is made up of water and does not have any calories but it is a hard substance and is very cold. Though our tooth enamel is the hardest of all, but still it can be damaged by chewing the ice. Enamel is the outer most covering of the tooth, and damage of it, makes the tooth more vulnerable for tooth decay (leading cavity).
