Angiofibromas

Angiofibroma is a harmless tumor. This tumour is most likely to occur in the teenage, particularly boys. This tumor occurs in a broad-based manner through the lateral wall associated with the nasal cavity. There’s a range of Angiofibroma which develops as tiny swellings in the face particularly seen in Tuberous sclerosis.

Majority of the symptoms are based upon the size of the tumor and its location over the face.

Facial Angiofibroma are typically asymptomatic.

However, regular bleeding episodes may take place in case of Nasal Angiofibroma.

Treatment is generally comprising of surgical elimination/ removal (excision) of the tumor. There are certain cases where the tumor extends into the cranium, in such instances, Radiation therapy may prove to be beneficial.
